VI- Officers

   The requirements, duties and responsibilities of officers in the church include:

 

Membership Requirements

    1. All officers shall be members of the church

    2. No one shall hold more than one elected office during a given year

    3. The term of all officers shall be one year

MODERATOR
DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Shall be the Principle Executive Officer of the church

  • Shall preside at meetings of the congregation and executive council

  • May take an active interest in the plans and programs of boards and committees

  • Shall call all meetings of the congregation in accordance with the provisions of the church constitution

CHURCH CLERK
DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Shall keep a record of all meetings of the congregation and the executive council

  • Shall give notice of all meetings of the church as required

  • Shall keep a register of the names and addresses of the members of the church, with dates and modes of their acceptance

  • Shall keep a record of baptisms, marriages and funerals

  • Shall be responsible for correspondence relative to membership acceptance, transfer and removal

TREASURER
DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Shall be an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees

  • Shall receive all monies of the church and give receipts for the same when requested

  • Shall be responsible for the deposit of all money in suitable banks or other depositories as established by the Board of Trustees

  • Shall make regular monthly reports to the Trustees and an annual report to the congregation as to the status of funds and keep an accurate record of all receipts and disbursements maintaining separate records of funds held for special purposes

  • Shall pay all bills as approved by the Trustees, including quarterly payments of Mission funds and make a quarterly report as to the status of the annual budget

  • Shall regularly report to the boards and committees the status of their budgeted or endowed funds

  • May submit accounts to an auditor appointed by the executive council for a complete audit prior to the annual meeting of the church

  • May appoint a financial secretary to assist in the performance of the treasurer’s duties
